Summer is here and it is the season to enjoy rum based tropical Tiki Cocktails. One of the most famous of all tropical drinks is the Goombay Smash. The drink originated at Miss Emily’s Blue Bee Bar on Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas. It was Miss Emily Cooper who created the house cocktail in the 1960’s and though we share the recipe with you today, it is an approximation of ingredients since the original recipe has been a well-guarded secret of the family. When shopping online for the recipe you will see numerous variations. The drink we offer you today is one we have mixed many times and is drawn from our best efforts to mimic Miss Emily’s original. The Goombay Smash is strong and sweet and takes the edge off of the summer heat in the most pleasant of ways. Cheers!
