Today we share with you a cocktail that was created at Milk and Honey in New York City’s lower east side, inspired by a customer request for a whiskey sour. Combining Bourbon, honey and lemon, The Gold Rush Cocktail is beautiful in its simplicity and an easy sipper for those that like their whiskey dressed.
Gold Rush Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice add:
- 2 Ounces Well-Bred Bourbon
- ¾ Ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
- ¾ Ounce Honey Syrup*
Shake and strain into an Old Fashion glass over fresh ice. No garnish needed.
*Honey Syrup
In a small saucepan on low heat add:
- 3 Ounces of Water
- 6 Ounces of Honey
Heat slowly stirring constantly until honey and water are combined. Remove from heat and cool. (Keeps in the refrigerator for 5-7 days).
