The hot toddy is a great winter warmer that has been around for centuries. The classic recipe is simple combination of hot water, lemon, whiskey and spices. It has been touted as medicinal, suggested as a home remedy for the common cold. Doubtful that it is a cure but it does have a soothing effect on a cold’s symptoms and is the quintessential drink to shake off the chill of a winter’s day. Today we offer you a take on the Hot Toddy using Earl Grey tea. Various teas are often used as part of the “spice” in a hot toddy and Earl Grey’s rich flavors really work well in the drink.
