It is strawberry season and as we approach Cinco de Mayo it is also Margarita season. Today’s clever cocktail is a refreshing take on the Margarita using strawberries and basil. In this version we also switch up the traditional salt rimmed glass for a sugar rim to compliment the strawberry flavors. So let’s all celebrate spring, break out the blender and whip up a batch of Strawberry Basil Margaritas today. Cheers!
Strawberry Basil Margarita
In a blender add:
- 1 Cup Hulled Fresh Strawberries
- 2 Ounces Silver Tequila
- ¼ Ounce Cointreau
- The Juice of 1 Small Lime
- ¼ to ½ ounce Agave Nectar (to taste)
- 3 Large Basil Leaves
- 1 Handful of Ice Cubes
Blend all ingredients on high until smooth. Pour into a sugar rimmed Margarita glass. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and basil sprig.
