New York has many cocktails named after its towns and boroughs. The Red Hook is a wonderful variation on the Manhattan and Brooklyn cocktails created by Milk & Honey bartender Enzo Errico. It is a simple, wonderfully balanced concoction employing Rye for its spicy base with Punt e Mes and Luxardo Maraschino as embellishments.
Red Hook Cocktail
In a shaker glass filled with ice add:
- 2 oz. rye whiskey (Rossville Union Straight Rye)
- ½ oz. Punt e Mes
- ½ oz. Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
Stir to chill and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a maraschino cherry (Luxardo please!)
