Watermelon Jalapeno Margarita

Ok good people get your DIY mode on and let us whip up a batch of summer Watermelon~Jalapeño Margaritas. It is August and the watermelons are drip down your chin delicious. This is a rendition of the Margarita which combines sweet summer watermelon with the cut of lime and spice of jalapeño. We like it with a splash of club soda to give it that popular “seltzer spritziness”. Whip up a batch of Watermelon~Jalapeño Margaritas and enjoy these wonderful harvests while we can. Cheers!

Watermelon~Jalapeño Margarita

In a shaker glass add:

  • 4 Slices of Fresh Jalapeño (with seeds for spicier, without for milder)
  • 2 Ounces of Silver/Joven Tequila

Muddle the two together then top with ice and add:

  • 2 Ounces of Fresh Watermelon Juice*
  • 1 Ounce Jalapeño Simple Syrup*
  • 1 Ounce Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

Shake and strain into a salt rimmed Margarita glass.  Splash with Club Soda (Optional for a Spritz).  Garnish with a Lime Wedge or Slice of Jalapeño or Watermelon.

Jalapeño Simple Syrup

In a Small Sauce Pan Add

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 ¼ Cup Water
  • ¼ Cup sliced Jalapeño Peppers (seeds for spicy seedless for mild)

Bring to a Boil, Lower Heat.  Simmer until Reduced by ½.  Cool and Strain into a Sterile Bottle.  Keep Refrigerated (Will Keep 7 to 10 Days). 

Fresh Watermelon Juice

In a Blender Cup, Add Sliced Fresh Watermelon Pulp.   

Blend Until Smooth.  Strain Through a Fine Sieve into a Sterile Bottle.  Keep Refrigerated (Will Keep About 3 days but will separate and need to be shaken).
