The Irish Rose

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, today we share with you a cocktail made with Irish whiskey.  While Irish whiskey has a reputation for being offered in a shot glass un-embellished, it can be dressed up into a cocktail for those who prefer a more subtle delivery of their strong spirit.  The Irish Rose cocktail comes to us from the 1917 publication of “Honest Jake” Didier’s pocket bartender’s guide.  It is a variation on the Jack Rose cocktail which is refreshing and light on its feet.  This St Patrick’s day why not dress up your Irish whiskey and whip up a batch of Irish Rose’s?  Sláinte!
