Today we are sharing with you a variation on the classic Bees Knees cocktail that is embellished with fresh Sage. Thanksgiving is on the horizon and with the smells of poultry seasoning in the air, the Honey & Sage Beekeeper cocktail is a perfect drink for the day. We much prefer Barr Hill Gin for this cocktail being that it is made with fresh honey, though any gin will do in a pinch.
Honey & Sage Beekeeper
In an Empty Shaker Glass Add:
- 3 Fresh Sage Leaves
- 1 ½ Ounces of Barr Hill Gin
- ½ Ounce Honey Syrup*
- ½ Ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
Muddle the ingredients to draw out the aromatics from the Sage, then top with ice and shake till painfully cold. Strain into a martini saucer and garnish with a fresh sage leaf floated atop the drink.
*To make a honey syrup in a saucepan add ¼ cup of honey and ¼ cup of water. Bring to a boil and then let cool. Syrup will keep in the refrigerator for a week.
