The Negroni

In all of the pages of cocktails we have offered you, we somehow omitted the obligatory Negroni. If you are not familiar, and have not tried one; this is the perfect fall, gin cocktail.

The story goes that in the early 1900’s the Count Camillo Negroni who enjoyed The Americano Cocktail at Café Casoni wanted something stronger. Bartender, Fosco Scarselli obliged by adding Gin to the Americano and the Negroni Cocktail was born. It is strong and balanced to be slightly sweet and slightly bitter.  It is the perfect aperitivo before a big Italian meal and a classic among cocktails.
