The Pegu Club Cocktail
Rangoon, Burma
Today we offer you the simplicity of Gin subtly embellished and perfectly showcased. The Pegu Club Cocktail has been lost to most over time but ranks among the great classics and still translates to today’s palate. The Pegu Club Cocktail was created in Burma at The Pegu Club in the 1920’s to comfort the British Officers at this remote outpost. The drink is tart and refreshing with herbal notes from the bitters. It is a perfect drink to revive when entertaining as an ice breaker (more like melter). Give it a shot with shrimp or shellfish appetizers for a great pairing.
