Leave it to American ingenuity to merge some of drinking trendiest ingredients to create a fusion-cocktail that will help us to segue from summer to fall. It started when we saw an online recipe that combined Bourbon whiskey with Rosé wine. Researching the rather unique concept we found numerous recipes under various names but were still skeptical until we went behind the bar and started playing with the ingredients ourselves. Out of the various online versions we created our own recipe drawing a bit of knowledge from each. We selected the simple name Bourbon & Roses for our rendition. It turns out that Bourbon and Rosé wine mix rather well and when embellished with a few subtle nudges the results are really quite enjoyable. The recipe is as follows:
Bourbon & Roses Cocktail
In a Shaker Glass Filled with Ice Add:
- 2 Ounces of Well Bred Bourbon
- 3 Ounces of Dry Rosé wine (Cotes du Provence)
- ¼ Ounce Wild Moon Rose Liqueur
- ¼ Ounce Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice
Shake and Strain into a Lowball Glass Filled with Fresh Ice. Splash with Club Soda. Garnish with Fresh Grapefruit Slices
